Imota Council Boss Leads Residents For CVR Capturing At INEC Office, Commends CALEB University

In his quest to ensure that more residents are captured in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), Hon. Benson Sunday, Executive Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Friday, led the mobilisation of residents of Imota to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Ikorodu, for the completion of their biometric registration.

In a statement by the Council’s Public Engage Unit, it said that the chairman’s act is a demonstrating of his administration’s commitment to enhancing civic awareness, inclusive governance, and unity among the people of Imota LCDA.

It was gathered that community members that gathered early in the morning were transported to the INEC office in Ikorodu, for the purpose by buses provided by the management of Caleb University, Imota, an initiative which encourage a large turnout for the exercise.

The council said that the initiative aims to make the registration process seamless and more accessible for residents across the council area. This, the statement said, emphased the council’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible resident has the opportunity to fully participate in the democratic process.

Hon. Benson expressed appreciation to the Caleb University team, led by Dr. Adebogun, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, for their presence and the university’s contributions that have significantly aided the success of this exercise.

The statement also enjoined residents who have not yet registered, to take advantage of the ongoing registration and mobilization, adding that the journey to greater representation begins with voter registration, and that the future of Imota depends on the choices made through their civic exercise.
